The rain finally got to us for our last game in basketball. This week's storm reached its peak on Thursday, successfully raining out our final game against the International School of Monterey. So instead of one last chance to showcase our skills, instead we had pizza and a movie about one of the most skilled hoopsters, "Pistol" Pete Maravich.
Despite the gloomy weather, spirits were high in what served as our final basketball experience for this season. The Boys Varsity team finished a solid 5-3 led by the core of 8th graders Robby Treadwell, Aidan Franscioni and Alex Newman. 7th graders like Nicholas Chancellor and Henri Pratt represent much hope for the future.
The Girls Varsity team also has much to look forward to for next season. With a 3-5 record, the girls team did not have one single 8th grader which means the entire team should come back next year. All players learned a ton this past season so next year can only be better.
Finally, the Junior Varsity Boys team began to come together as a team down the stretch. Despite only 2 official games during the season, the boys scrimmaged often and gained some excellent game experience.
The rain may have ended the season, but hope springs eternal and next year is one to watch!
